Attachment III
Dr. Andrzej Roslanowski is active in all phases of departmental life.
He teaches a wide variety of undergraduate courses, whatever
he is asked to do, without complaint. He is an engaging
teacher and receives excellent student evaluation scores. He
holds extra problem solving class sessions which are well
received by students.
Andrzej is an excellent advisor of the undergraduate Math Club. The
club has become quite active under his direction. It holds
student talks and social events such as celebrating annual Pi
day on March 14th each year.
Andrzej is a prolific researcher in the area of set theory and logic.
However, his research is so esoteric that he has no real mathematical
interaction with anyone at UNO, either with students or with other
faculty. This tends to isolate him from the rest of the department.
This intellectual isolation is unfortunate and creates an unpleasant
atmosphere between Andrzej and other faculty. I would like to
alleviate this situation so that Andrzej can feel more comfortable
about his role in the department.
