My 2009/2010 work has focused on compiling a list of common mathematical errors that pre-service elementary teachers make in mathematics content courses with Dr. Meixia Ding from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This 2 year project has produced an online database for use of others who teach these types of courses and is available here. Recent publications: · Matthews, M. and Seaman, W. (2007). The Effects of Different Undergraduate Mathematics Courses on the Content Knowledge and Attitude towards Mathematics of Preservice Elementary Teachers. Published in “Issues in the Undergraduate Mathematics Preparation of School Teachers: The Journal”, Volume 1 (Content Knowledge). [Available online at www.k-12prep.math.ttu.edu]. · Matthews, M. My curriculum vitae as of September 2008 is available here As part of some grant work, I made a compilation of journals related to mathematics education, it’s available here. Please feel free to send any corrections to me. |
